Plan · Autumn in Jibhi
What to pack for Jibhi in October and November
Warm days, cold evenings and a windy pass. Here is a short list that covers it, plus what to bring for your dog.
Coming later in the year? Jibhi in December covers how cold it gets and what changes in winter.
Short answer: pack in layers. Autumn days in Jibhi are usually pleasant, but evenings and early mornings get cold, and Jalori Pass is colder and windier than the valley. Public guides list roughly 8 to 18°C on the Jibhi valley floor in October (jibhi.in); November runs colder. Check a forecast the week you travel.
Clothes: layers win
- 2 to 3 t-shirts or thermals as a base layer
- A fleece or sweater for evenings
- A padded or down jacket (essential in November and for the pass)
- Comfortable trousers; jeans get cold and heavy if wet
- Cap, gloves and warm socks for early mornings
- Something comfy to lounge in by the fire
Shoes: grip over style
- Walking shoes or light trekking shoes with good grip for Jibhi waterfall, Chehni Kothi and Serolsar
- Slippers or sandals for the cottage

For a Jalori Pass day
The walk from Jalori Pass to Serolsar Lake is about 5 km each way, so treat it as a morning-start day. Carry a day pack with water, a warm layer, a cap, sunscreen and snacks. Our kitchen can pack lunch or Siddu, and we check the Jalori road with locals if you WhatsApp us the evening before. Full guide: Jalori Pass and Serolsar Lake.
Bring your dog along
- Their own bed or blanket, so they settle in fast
- Leash and harness for village trails
- Enough of their usual food for the whole trip, plus bowls
- Waste bags and an old towel for muddy paws
- A warm coat if your dog feels the cold
- Any regular medicines
Dogs are a common sight around Jibhi and village trails are fine. Don't take dogs inside temples unless allowed, and for national park trails ask the range office. More in our pet-friendly stay guide.
