Jibhi itinerary: 2, 3, 4 and 5 days
Day-by-day plans from people who host in Chhet, with winter swaps when Jalori shuts.
Search "jibhi itinerary" and you get a dozen lists of the same sights. Here is how the days actually fit together, with real walking times and what to swap when the weather says no.
Short answer: for a first trip, plan 2 nights and 3 days in Jibhi. That gives you one full day for the classic sights (Jibhi waterfall, Chehni Kothi and, when the road is open, Jalori Pass and Serolsar Lake) and a slow half-day by the Tirthan river. With 4 or 5 days you add Great Himalayan National Park walks, Banjar and village days without rushing. Below are day-by-day plans for 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 days, written by the people who host guests in Chhet, a few minutes past Jibhi.
Before you plan: three things that shape every Jibhi itinerary
- The drive is long. Delhi to Jibhi is roughly 12–13 hours by road (public route guides). Most people take an overnight private Volvo to Aut, or drive through the night and arrive by late morning. Day 1 is therefore a short day.
- Jalori Pass is seasonal. The pass (about 3,120 m, roughly 12–14 km above Jibhi, about 45 minutes) is usually open from late spring to mid-autumn and usually shut after the first heavy snow. Check is Jalori Pass open? before you fix the Jalori day.
- Distances are short, roads are slow. Jibhi, Chhet, Banjar (roughly 8 km from Jibhi) and the Tirthan side are close on a map, but mountain roads mean 20–40 minute hops. Keep 2–3 sights a day.
Jibhi itinerary for 2 days (1 night)
Two days works only if you are already in Himachal (say, coming from Kasol or Manali) or you are happy with a very short trip. From Delhi, two days means more time on the road than in the valley.
- Day 1: arrive by noon, check in, lunch from the kitchen. Walk to Jibhi waterfall in the afternoon (about 1 km from Jibhi market, a 10–15 minute forest walk). Evening at the cottage.
- Day 2: early start for Jalori Pass if open (or Chehni Kothi and Shringa Rishi temple if not), back by lunch, leave by early afternoon.
Jibhi itinerary for 3 days (2 nights 3 days): our recommended plan
This is the plan most of our guests follow, and it is the answer to "jibhi itinerary 3 days from Delhi". It assumes an overnight Volvo or drive that reaches Aut or Jibhi in the morning.
- Day 1 (arrival, easy): reach Aut in the morning; we can help arrange a taxi from Aut to Chhet (fares vary). Check in, hot water, rest. Afternoon: Jibhi waterfall and a stroll through Jibhi market for tea. Early dinner from our local chefs.
- Day 2 (the big day): leave by 8–9 AM for Jalori Pass. Walk to Serolsar Lake (roughly 5 km each way, mostly gentle forest trail), picnic, and be back at the pass by mid-afternoon. If Jalori is closed, swap in Chehni Kothi via the Shringa Rishi temple at Bagi, then Banjar. Evening: hot tub if you are in the Glass House, or the patio at the Mudhouses.
- Day 3 (slow morning, departure): breakfast with the valley view, a short riverside walk on the Tirthan side, lunch, and leave for Aut for the evening Volvo back.

Jibhi itinerary for 4 days (3 nights)
- Day 1: arrive, waterfall, rest.
- Day 2: Jalori Pass and Serolsar Lake (or the Raghupur Fort side if you want a longer, steeper walk and the weather is clear).
- Day 3: Banjar morning: Shringa Rishi temple and the forest footpath to Chehni Kothi (roughly 1–1.5 km uphill, 45–60 minutes one way). Afternoon by the Tirthan river.
- Day 4: slow breakfast and depart.
Jibhi itinerary for 5 days: add the national park
With five days, give one full day to the Tirthan side and the Great Himalayan National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2014, and keep one day completely free. Many people combine Jibhi with Shoja (on the Jalori road) or with Kasol on the way in; see Kasol to Jibhi without a car.
- Day 1: arrive, waterfall.
- Day 2: Jalori and Serolsar.
- Day 3: Banjar, Shringa Rishi, Chehni Kothi.
- Day 4: Tirthan river and GHNP walks; if you are an angler, read our Tirthan trout fishing guide (licence needed, closed 1 Nov–end Feb).
- Day 5: nothing planned, then depart.
One-day Jibhi itinerary (if you are passing through)
Coming over Jalori from Shimla or doing a loop? A single day can cover the waterfall in the morning, Jibhi market for lunch, and Chehni Kothi in the afternoon. It is a taste, not a trip. If you can, stay one night so you see the valley in the evening light.
Jibhi itinerary in winter (December to February)
In winter, plan around shorter daylight and a likely Jalori closure. Arrive via Aut and Banjar on NH-305 (that route does not cross Jalori), keep walks to the morning and early afternoon, and build in cosy evenings. Snow is possible, mostly in January and February, but never guaranteed in the village. See Jibhi in winter and Jibhi snowfall.

Where to stay in Chhet, near Jibhi
A short trip lives or dies by where you sleep, because you spend long evenings indoors once the sun drops behind the ridge. Peaks N Valley Stays is in Chhet (PIN 175123), a few minutes past Jibhi. Every cottage has a room heater, hot water runs 24x7 and there is power backup if the valley supply drops. You can drive right up to the door and park free, our local chefs cook home-style meals, and pets are welcome.
Couples usually pick the glass house in Jibhi: a glass roof over the bed, the valley beside you and a private hot tub, for up to 2 guests. Families and friends take the mud house cottages in Chhet, up to 3 guests each or 6 with both, side by side with a shared patio. Room decoration, a cake and a candlelight dinner are available on request with 1 day's advance notice. A bonfire can be arranged on request at an extra charge.
How many days are enough for Jibhi?
Two nights and three days is the sweet spot for a first trip from Delhi: one arrival day, one full day for Jalori Pass and Serolsar Lake or Chehni Kothi, and a slow departure morning. Four or five days let you add Banjar, the Tirthan river and GHNP.
What is a good Jibhi itinerary for 3 days from Delhi?
Day 1: overnight Volvo to Aut, taxi to Jibhi, Jibhi waterfall. Day 2: Jalori Pass and Serolsar Lake if open, otherwise Chehni Kothi and Shringa Rishi temple. Day 3: slow breakfast, Tirthan riverside walk, evening bus back from Aut.
Can I do Jibhi in 2 days?
Only if you are already in Himachal. From Delhi the round trip on the road takes most of two days, so plan at least two nights.
Is Jalori Pass part of every Jibhi itinerary?
Only when it is open, usually late spring to mid-autumn. After heavy snow it shuts, so winter itineraries swap in Chehni Kothi, Banjar and the Tirthan river.
Do you offer a Jibhi tour package?
No. We host the stay and help arrange taxis from Aut (fares vary). Everything else is easy to plan yourself with the day-by-day plan on this page.
